What is this made of, plastic, pressed board?
It’s plastic. Also very durable. I have an 80 lb American bulldog. He likes to lift the flaps, grab a hold of the flaps, and “throw” the game to the side. He learned most treats fall out that way. Lazy cheater. Regardless, the game is still fully in tact, and flaps easily pop back on. Some of the white bone middle covers have been chewed on, and still fit perfectly for intended use.
Will this work for a large dog or are the moving parts too small? For reference my dog is over 80 lbs. Thanks!
Hi, I have a 78# greyhound, and this is one of his favorite toys. He gets part of his kibble ration in one of these every day. Mostly, he uses his nose to move the small parts around, but he does sometimes use his paw to rotate the large circle in the middle. I hope this info helps!
I have an “extremely aggressive chewer”. Will this hold up?
This product is a treat puzzle and not a chew toy. It is not meant to be chewed, and we recommend supervised use only. No.. it is not durable enough for an aggressive chewer if he/she is doing this puzzle unsupervised.
Is this toy dishwasher safe? This product is not dishwasher safe. We recommend washing it with warm soapy running water and rinsing thoroughly. How hard is this one? Hello! We offer 3 levels of Games - Level 1: Easy, Level 2: Intermediate, Level 3: Advanced. This is a Level 3 Game and considered advanced because the dog must complete a series of steps to get the treat rewards. You can start easier with this game by not locking the blue pieces into place, making it easier for the dog to side them around and find the rewards. Once they get better at it, you can increase the difficulty by locking the blue pieces into place with the white locks. The dog will need to pull the lock out in order to move the blue top pieces and uncover the treats. You can vary the difficulty for your Maltese! It is actually pretty challenging for the dog if you know how to fill it. You can put the treats through the holes in the knobs, and when the dog pushes the knob over the round dents, the treat will fall in. So this is actually a multi-step puzzle:
Step 1: push the "wings" out of the way
Step 2: push the knobs over the dent, so the treat will fall into the dent
Step 3: push the knob back to its original position, so it no longer blocks the dent.
Step 4: fish out the treat
Step 5: repeat 7 times, because that's how many knobs there are.
Occasionally a neighboring wing will also get in the way of trying to move one of the knobs, which adds the extra challenge of figuring out why the knob isn't moving, and solving that problem!
